How to troubleshoot HP Touchpad Not Working Error?
I recently got a new HP laptop, but my HP Touchpad not working on my laptop. When I click on it with my finger,

Enable the touchpad
The first thing you should check is if the Touchpad
is enabled in your control settings. If so, try adjusting some of the
sensitivity settings or check for updates to your drivers. If not, see if the
Touchpad device is in your Device Manager and try enabling it there by
right-clicking on the entry and selecting Enable Device.
Reinstall and Update the Drivers

If the problem persists and the Touchpad is enabled, try
removing and reinstalling your driver. First, uninstall the driver by going to
Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager >
right-click on the Touchpad entry, select Uninstall device, and click OK.
Remove the existing driver by following these steps:

Go to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager,
click on View in the toolbar or expand it from the left panel. In either case,
from here you should see an option to Show hidden devices.

Check that option and then you can view all devices
including those without drivers such as your Touchpad device Select View again
but this time select Show hidden devices once again.
-To Update the drivers
Here, you should see a list of devices without
drivers. Select your Touchpad device and choose Update driver software >

The next window that opens shows the different paths
that Windows searches when trying to locate drivers; underneath there should be
an option for Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Check
that and click Next.

You will now see a list of compatible hardware and
vendors, including Microsoft-Other hardware-Generic Touchpad/TrackPoint
pointing device and HP-Other hardware such as your Touchpad/TrackPoint pointing
device. Choose the appropriate entry and proceed with the installation. Once complete,
restart your PC to complete the process.
Restore the device
If the touchpad not working HP envy try using System Restore to get your computer back to a time when the Touchpad
was functioning correctly.
1. Go to the Start Window.
2. Click on “Settings.”
3. Select “Update and Security.”
4. Choose the “Recovery” option given within the window.
5. Click on the “Get started” button from the given
three options under “Reset this PC.”
